Swiss Hospitality at its Finest

The sleek Swiss bi-level train smoothly slid into Lausanne, and we spotted our handsome Hotel Beau Rivage host, Thierry Del Magro, waiting for us on the platform with a team of porters.  Our plan was to head out directly from the station to Lausanne’s Old Town to explore the Saturday Market and our luggage would precede us to the hotel, safely arrivintg in our rooms.  It became quickly evident that our experienced group of international agents were all missing name tags for our carry-on bags.  Ever resourceful, (after 31 years of living with creative Tim Jergel) I remembered the band aids tucked into my purse and grabbed one, scribbled JERGEL on the front and stuck it on my carry on.  While Thierry apologized profusely for forgetting hotel ID tags, I depleted my supply – sharing with other negligent agents – and our bags were carried away to one of the most luxurious hotels in all of Switzerland – sporting band aids.

In the early evening, after walking through the cobblestoned streets of this lakeside jewel, our weary selves were welcomed into the hydreangea-filled, cool lobby of the Beau Rivage Palace.  I couldn’t wait to get into my room to take off my boots and after doing so, spied a small gift bag on the table.  Opening the bag, there was a new box of Swiss band aids, courtesy of the hotel.  Now THAT’S hospitality!
